GIS Specialist/Associate Planner
I was first introduced to GIS in a Community Mapping course during my undergraduate studies. A major component of our class assignments included working with community-based organizations in Los Angeles on mapping projects for social justice campaigns. I was immediately hooked, and pursued GIS every chance I could, including incorporating GIS into my senior thesis examining food access patterns on the Navajo Nation. As an artist, I saw GIS and maps as a new medium to play with, and as a tool for storytelling. Currently, I am finishing my thesis for my graduate degree in GIS; and I’m excited to apply my skills creating maps for our clients that communicate useful information in a visually compelling way.
