Environmental Sustainability… we practice what we preach

As Civil and Environmental Consultants, CASC’s projects promote sustainable living, reduced energy consumption, and a decreased carbon footprint. At our offices, we practice what we preach.

Office BMP retrofit

We converted our corporate office site from water-loving turf to runoff-loving BMPs. Through the installation of water quality basins and Precast Porous Concrete, we have reduced runoff and potential pollutant discharges by nearly 80%! Through our business and educational partnerships we provide site-tours to industry groups as well as High School and College classes. The project has received numerous awards from Civil and Environmental Industry associations for its creative implementation of sustainable design practices.

carbon sequestration through tree planting

CASC planted 32 trees at our corporate office to compliment the 21 existing trees. The urban forest acts to sequester, reduce the heat island effect of the building and parking lot, and improves the aesthetics of the site. The new trees include drought tolerant varieties such as the Desert Museum Palo Verde and the native California Sycamore. It is estimated that the 53 trees will sequester approximately 1400 pounds of Carbon in 2020, and over 27 tons of carbon by the year 2035.

enhanced lighting Solar Tubes

CASC installed solar tubes at our corporate office to bring natural light to the office space which helps to reduce eye strain while simultaneously lowering electricity costs. The solar tubes allow us to eliminate 50% of the lights in the office space.
